About the Performer

Jeston Lu, 17, is a senior at Valley Christian High School in San Jose. He has been playing piano for over 12 years and studies music under the tutelage of Professor Hans Boepple. His dedication in piano playing has been recognized and brought him numerous local, state, national and international awards. He is honored to be one of the 2022 National YoungArts Competition winners in Classical Music. Inducted to the 2022 Young Artist Guild of the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), he is the state winner and received Second Place in the Southwest Division in the 2022 MTNA National Senior Performance Competition. He also received First Places at State Finals of the MTAC PIano Concerto Competition and the Young Artist Competition of the California Youth Symphony which provided him the opportunity to perform the Beethoven Concerto No. 5 (full) with CYS Orchestra in March 2023. His other musical achievements include winning the Kaufman Music Center International Youth Piano Competition, Celia Méndez Young Pianists Beethoven Competition, Ross McKee Piano Competition, Pacific Musical Society Competition, and Seattle International Bach Festival.
